Our first medical device with a mission to make breast cancer screening more accessible. Mamosound is a portable ultrasound breast cancer screening device for home use. Mamosound uses proprietary machine vision software to provide simple yes/no results to our patients if breast tumors have been detected. By using Mamosound, women can significantly increase the likelihood of detecting breast cancer earlier and seek treatment. Mamosound data can be synced to the patients PACS or shared directly with the patients’ healthcare provider. Our goal is to improve healthcare delivery and the patient journey.
Breast cancer is estimated to affect about 1 out of every 8 women globally. The existing home self-exam methods are based on feeling for lumps in breasts and are only effective at detecting large (stage 2 or 3) tumors so most small tumors are unnoticed. By using Mamosound, women can significantly increase the likelihood of detecting breast cancer earlier and seek treatment. Our pre-market analysis has shown that women would prefer more accurate self-exam methods that could be carried out in the comfort of their own home rather than frequent visits to hospitals for expensive and painful x-ray mammograms. There is clear and urgent need in the world for a more precise self-exam method to detect early stage breast cancer. Mamosound is our solution to this problem.
From the start, our mission was to make a healthcare IoT device that solved a real world problem and wasn't just another ‘nice to have item’. If we are able to fully commercialize Mamosound, our impact will be twofold. First, we will be providing women with a more convenient and accurate breast cancer screening system, thus improving the patient journey. Rather than having to travel to a clinic for a breast cancer screen, women will have the option to scan themselves in the comfort and privacy of their own home. Second, we are building the largest anonymized breast cancer image database and most accurate machine learning algorithm for ultrasound breast cancer diagnosis.
